Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and organized Patient Care Coordinator to join our outpatient physical therapy practice. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that patients receive the highest level of care and support throughout their healthcare journey. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of medical administrative processes. The Patient Care Coordinator will be responsible for managing patient interactions, collecting payments, verifying insurance benefits, coordinating appointments, and maintaining accurate records and other duties as assigned.

Duties

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for patients, addressing inquiries and providing information regarding services.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments, ensuring efficient use of time slots.
  • Maintain accurate patient records in accordance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
  • Utilize electronic health record systems to manage patient information effectively.
  • Assist with medical administrative support tasks, including filing, data entry, and documentation management.
  • Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette while handling incoming calls and messages from patients.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure seamless patient flow within the practice.
  • Support health information management initiatives by keeping up-to-date with patient records and compliance standards.

Skills

  • Comfortable with a variety of computer programs and software.
  • Proficient in office management practices and medical administrative support.
  • Cash handling and reconciliation skills are required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective phone etiquette.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate patient files and records.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while providing exceptional patient care.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is a plus.
