Position Summary: The Graduate Admissions Counselor is responsible for the management of recruitment and admissions activities related to all assigned programs. The Counselor will be responsible for cultivating and managing inquiries, helping prospective students through the admissions process and conducting student appointments in order to successfully meet targeted recruitment goals. All activities of this position are to make a contribution to the fulfillment of the mission of the university.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to accomplish each of the below duties satisfactorily:
- Represents the University to prospective students and the general public with the highest degree of professionalism through an array of outreach programs and activities
- In coordination with the Director of Graduate Admissions and Recruiting, plan and implement recruitment strategies and activities to find, attract, and recruit new students to the university
- Advises perspective students regarding educational opportunities, admissions requirements, and policies and procedures, as appropriate
- Actively manage prospective student inquires and applications via telephone, email, text message, etc. for all assigned programs
- Create and update student information utilizing the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) program
- Logs and maintains all communication with prospective students
- Presents program and admissions information to prospective students at information sessions and conferences - some travel will be required
- Meets aggressive enrollment goals for each start term
- Works collaboratively with appropriate CUI personnel to grow and improve academic programs
- Helps run and organize the admissions interviews
- Assists in developing and maintaining admissions materials
- Utilizes effective communication skills with faculty, staff, and students; as well as, all off campus constituents
- Supports, and contributes to, the mission and vision of Concordia University Irvine
- Some evening and weekend hours, as needed
- Other Duties as may be assigned
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university. Master's Degree preferred. Experience in
higher education admissions preferred.
Full Time Staff, Non-Exempt
$24-$25/hr
