Overview:
Liberty Christian Preparatory School offers a comprehensive school counseling program to all K-12 students. The focus of the school counseling program is to support student academic achievement through social/emotional support, academic support, and career development. All students at LCP will participate in whole class guidance lessons. The counseling office offers small group counseling on topics such as friendship, study skills, depression, anxiety, etc. Short term, solution-focused individual counseling is available by parent and, or teacher referral.
Liberty Christian Prep is seeking an innovative, knowledgeable, and visionary K-12 Guidance Counselor to join our faculty for the 2025–2026 academic year. The ideal candidate is a committed Christ follower with a heart for ministering to children and teens, passionate about academic advising, college counseling, and student development. This position focuses on supporting students through academic guidance, social-emotional learning, and behavioral interventions to promote overall student success in a Christ-centered environment.
Primary Responsibilities:Academic Advising & College Readiness
- Provide comprehensive academic counseling services to students in grades K-12.
- Guide high school students in course selection, dual enrollment (including FLVS Flex), graduation planning, and college/career exploration.
- Assist with transcript reviews, standardized testing coordination, and postsecondary application processes.
- Support students with academic goal setting, time management, and organizational skills.
Social-Emotional & Behavioral Support
- Lead small groups and one-on-one sessions to address students’ emotional, relational, and behavioral needs.
- Promote positive student behavior by implementing proactive strategies and restorative practices.
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support behavior management systems and student intervention plans.
- Provide crisis support and serve as a resource for families and staff in addressing student mental health concerns.
Program Development & Collaboration
- Design and implement a data-driven, comprehensive K-12 school counseling program aligned with Christian values.
- Track and analyze academic and behavioral data to identify trends and develop interventions.
- Develop school-wide initiatives and events that enhance college/career readiness and social-emotional development.
Spiritual Leadership
- Integrate Biblical principles into counseling practices.
- Encourage and model a Christian worldview in all student interactions and programming.
- Participate in spiritual life activities and support the mission and values of Liberty Christian Prep.
Additional Duties:
- Assist with school-wide events, chapel, field trips, and parent engagement activities.
- Contribute to school culture and collaborate with faculty and staff on cross-departmental initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or related field
- Must obtain FACCS (Florida Association of Christian Colleges and Schools) certification upon hire
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Personal commitment to Christian faith and active participation in a local church
Preferred:
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Knowledge of Florida graduation requirements, dual enrollment processes, and FLVS Flex
- Training in trauma-informed care, SEL, or behavioral interventions
Salary:
- Range $45K
