This nonprofit mental health organization, based in Los Angeles, provides comprehensive services for adults experiencing mental illness and addiction treatment. The residential treatment facility has 16 beds.
Position Summary
The Assistant Program Director (Clinical) supports the Program Director in managing daily clinical operations and provides supervision and leadership to assigned staff. This position plays a critical role in maintaining clinical quality, compliance, and team development across the program.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as Head of Service in the Program Director’s absence
- Serve as liaison between clinical, administrative, and external agency staff
- Provide clinical supervision to assigned staff, including BBS-registered interns
- Assist with clinical program development and training implementation
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and evaluation of clinical personnel
- Ensure compliance with DMH and organizational documentation and service standards
- Support development and evaluation of program policies and procedures
- Attend intra/inter-agency meetings and share relevant updates with the team
- Participate in treatment team and staff meetings, offering clinical insights
- Respond to crises and facilitate transitions to higher levels of care when needed
- Develop and maintain integrity of the clinical group schedule
- Conduct assessments for client placement when necessary
- Collaborate with leadership on corrective action plans, performance evaluations, and HR processes
- Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts and cross-program collaboration
- Perform other duties as assigned
QualificationsRequired Experience:
- Experience providing individual and group therapy in a clinical mental health setting
- Strong diagnostic and treatment skills using the DSM-5
- Familiarity with community mental health systems and services
- Experience working with individuals with serious and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use, and high-risk behaviors
Required Education & Licensure:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field from an accredited institution
- Must hold LCSW or Psychologist license (California)
- Eligible to provide clinical supervision to BBS-registered interns (or willing to complete required supervision training)
Additional Requirements
- Clearance from DOJ, FBI, and Community Care Licensing (CCL)
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Acceptable driving record for coverage by organizational insurance
- TB clearance
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $110,000.00 - $124,000.00 per year
