Job Summary

College Hospital Long Beach (CHLB) is looking for an ASW/AMFT Therapist for our expanding PHP Program. The ASW/AMFT Therapist will run groups and provide some, but minimal Case Management services for the program. This is an opportunity for an ASW/AMFT Therapist to be on the ground floor to support the Long Beach PHP Program

Job Requirements

  • Must have an active intern or licensed number registered with the Board of Behavioral Services (BBS) or number registered with the Board of Psychology.
  • Prefer 2 years of clinical experience working with seriously mentally ill and/or developmentally disabled and/or substance abuse clients.
  • Effective written and verbal communication in English.
  • Knowledge and understanding of psychiatric diagnosis, terminology, and medical record charting basics.
  • Good group facilitation skills and experience.
  • Must have an AHA BLS for Healthcare provider card. De-escalation training within 30 days of hire.
  • Effectively facilitates group treatment modalities within scope of practice, as assigned by the Program
  • Effectively conducts initial assessment of new patients and develops initial treatment plan.
  • Develops master treatment plans, as prescribed by program policies and procedures, using data from all assessments and input from treatment team.
  • Accurately enters progress notes within 24 hours of service or the next business day; progress notes are accurate, refers to problems identified on treatment plan. Documents incidents or unusual occurrences at the time it happens.
  • Completes discharge summaries for all assigned patients in a timely manner as prescribed
  • Effectively demonstrates competency working with the age specific needs of adult patients, ages 18+, and completes Psychosocial assessments conforming to the guidelines set forth in the Procedures for Psychosocial Assessment.
  • Assesses the needs of adult patients, ages 18+ and intervenes to facilitate movement to next stage.

Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. In addition to base pay, there may be additional compensation available for CHLB/Glendora Hospital roles, including but not limited to shift differential and other special pay practices, etc. The posted compensation for the position is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay that CHLB/Glendora Hospital in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.46 - $38.07 per hour
