About Job

The Licensed Clinical Counselor provides direct clinical services to patients with substance use disorders (SUDs) in an inpatient hospital or residential treatment setting. This role involves conducting assessments, delivering evidence-based interventions, coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams, and supporting patients through detoxification, stabilization, and recovery planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Assessment & Diagnosis:
  • Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments.
  • Diagnose substance use and co-occurring mental health disorders using DSM-5 criteria.
  • Treatment Planning & Intervention:
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with patients and care teams.
  • Provide individual, group, and family therapy using modalities such as CBT, DBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
  • Facilitate psychoeducation and relapse prevention groups.
  • Care Coordination:
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, social workers, and case managers to ensure integrated care.
  • Coordinate discharge planning and referrals to outpatient or residential programs.
  • Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with HIPAA and facility standards.
  • Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Crisis Intervention:
  • Respond to psychiatric or substance-related crises with de-escalation and safety planning.
  • Provide support during withdrawal management and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Licensure: Active state licensure (e.g., LPC, LCSW, LMFT) and certification in addiction counseling (e.g., CADC, LADC) preferred.
  • Experience: or hospital setting.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of addiction, trauma-informed care, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHRs).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
