Job Summary
With the goals of increasing safety and permanency for children and families in the child welfare system, the Family Time Counselor, will provide clinical support services to identified families and children within a collaborative family visitation program to establish and support a robust, family driven and trauma informed service delivery system.
Fulltime counselor responsible for providing supportive counseling to individuals and families referred through the Oswego County Department of Social Services. Hiring Bonus after successful completion of orientation period.
Duties
- Individual and family counseling for those involved in the foster care system
- Case documentation to include written summaries, assessments, service and safety plans
- participate in family team meetings, serving as a clinical partner within a multidisciplinary team that includes DSS ad community collaborative partners
- Identify needs and gaps in services and supports and work with community partners to address
Requirements:
- Master's degree in social work, counseling or marriage and family therapy with 2 + years of experience in child welfare, mental health and/or family systems theory preferred
- Knowledgeable with strength based and trauma informed service approaches
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must have valid NYS Driver License
- Culturally competent

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
