Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Counselor to support adults receiving care in a structured residential mental health treatment program. The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing group and individual therapy and comfortable working in a multidisciplinary team environment in a therapeutic, non-acute residential setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult clients
• Conduct clinical assessments and develop person-centered treatment plans
• Facilitate psychoeducational and process groups
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in compliance with licensing and program standards
• Collaborate with medical, nursing, and residential staff to ensure holistic care
• Participate in case reviews, team meetings, and discharge planning
• Support clients in crisis and offer intervention when needed

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field
• Active Tennessee license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or equivalent) OR license-eligible/resident counselor with supervision
• At least 1 year of experience in behavioral health (residential, inpatient, or partial hospitalization setting preferred)
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT, trauma-informed care, etc.)
• Strong communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Schedule:

• Full-time
• Day and evening shifts available
• Some weekend coverage may be required depending on client needs

Compensation:

• $38–$42/hour (W2, based on experience and licensure)
