Lotus-Like Psychotherapy & Wellness Center is a private psychotherapy with two locations in Fresno, California, located near Fig Garden Village and in Downtown Fresno. Compassion and social justice are at the heart of our work and from a non-denominational platform we promote holistic care and treatment, as such our center providers free Tai-Chi and Yoga classes, along with workshops and groups focused on parenting, mindfulness/meditation, healthy relationships, and life transitions, most free to clients to promote their recovery. We strongly believe that the community needs more than just therapists thus we thrive to find creative ways to foster change in the lives of our clients and community. This philosophy transcends client care to include helping new therapists develop their approach, skills, and experience to better serve the community.
We provide services to individuals 05-99 years of age, including couples. Our practice is affirming to members of the LGBT-Q community, individuals with non-traditional relationship styles, and marginalized populations. Common issues that our clients seek out services to address include trauma, relationship problems, life transitions, grief/loss, depression, and anxiety. We do not provide intensive outpatient or crisis services, nor is there an expectation that clinicians are on-call or available 24/7. Clients of our center are primarily considered low-moderate severity. While we accept multiple insurances, associate clinicians primarily serve recipients of Medi-Cal (CalViva/Blue Cross), Cigna, Optum/United Healthcare, Aetna Commercial, Anthem Blue Shield (Magellan), Kaiser, Medicare, additional private insurances, other statewide Medi-Cal plans and cash pay clients.
Our team and culture
Our offices are comprised of both licensed and associate clinicians. We value diversity and flexibility, given the important and intense clinical work we perform. Much of our team hold other professional roles within the community including as professors, small business owners, yoga/dance instructors, crisis workers, and clinicians at other practices, universities, and colleges. We value the unique approaches and experience that each of our clinicians contributes to our overall mission in serving the community.
Who is the ideal candidate?
The ideal candidate is a licensed clinician registered with the BBS (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC) or in the process of receiving their number, interested in working part or full time, comfortable with independence, desiring flexibility, and has interests/skills they’d like to bring to this position to help us further our mission of serving the community. Prior experience with diagnosing and treatment planning are a plus. While clinicians are only expected to provide individual therapy, we welcome the facilitation of groups or workshops based on the needs of clients and the interests of clinicians. Clinicians are expected to maintain documentation that is accurate, coherent, and timely. Paneling for new licensed clinicians with our practice can take 1-3 months which varies amongst insurances.
