Description
St. Pius X Catholic School (Norfolk, VA) is seeking a part-time School Counselor for the 2025-2026 school year. This is a part time 10 month position requiring 14 hours per week during the school year.
Requirements
Responsibilities
• Counsel students individually and in small groups
• Conduct classroom guidance activities (e.g.---SEL, intrapersonal skills, soft skills)
• Refer students and their families to appropriate school personnel and community agencies
• Assist and participate in communications for support services within school
• Encourage teacher/parent communication and community involvement
• Participate in professional development activities
• Keep Administration appraised of any problems encountered
• Perform related work as required
• Maintain a strict level of confidentiality on all matters relating to St. Pius X & families within the established school operating procedures
Qualifications:
• Qualified candidates will possess a Virginia certification in school counseling
• Strong organizational, interpersonal communication skills, detail oriented, skilled in preparing written reports
• Professional demeanor, human relations skills, adaptability, and the ability to respond to multiple demands
• Extensive knowledge of child development preferred
• Basic computer skills required
