About the Role
The Peer Support Specialist provides person-centered support services that promote recovery, resilience, and wellness for adults receiving services through MaineGeneral's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role is a key part of a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, mental health nurse practitioners, nurses, employment specialists, and more.

About the Role
The Peer Support Specialist provides person-centered support services that promote recovery, resilience, and wellness for adults receiving services through MaineGeneral's Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) program. This role is a key part of a multidisciplinary team, including case managers, mental health nurse practitioners, nurses, employment specialists, and more.
What You'll Do
- Provide mentorship and education related to wellness and recovery
- Help individuals identify needs and connect with appropriate services and supports
- Collaborate with ACT team members to support treatment goals
- Educate patients and staff about peer support and recovery-oriented services
- Accurately document interactions and interventions in accordance with healthcare standards
- Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) preferred at time of hire
- CIPSS certification required within 12 months of hire
- Associate degree preferred
- Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record required
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- A passion for supporting others in their recovery journey
