• CASAC-T: $55,000 annually
• CASAC: $58,986 annually

About the Organization:
Elmcor Youth and Adult Activities, Inc. is a nonprofit organization committed to serving the community through a wide range of services including behavioral health, education, and youth development. We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate counselors to join our residential treatment program in Corona, Queens.

Position Overview:
The Substance Abuse Counselor provides individual and group counseling, conducts intakes and assessments, prepares treatment plans, maintains documentation, and supports clients with co-occurring disorders in a 51-bed residential facility. You will be part of a multidisciplinary team committed to recovery-focused care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments and determine appropriate level of care
• Provide individual and group counseling
• Coordinate care with courts, parole officers, and other stakeholders
• Facilitate client goal-setting and monitor progress
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings

Schedule:
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including rotating shifts (7:00 AM – 3:00 PM and 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM) and some weekends.

Qualifications:

• Active CASAC or CASAC-T certification required
• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and/or co-occurring mental health conditions
• Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
• Passion for helping individuals in recovery
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field (preferred)
