Job description
Do you like working with pets and people? Southern Oregon Humane Society has an opening for a Kennel Technician/Adoption Associate. This position will include office work, customer service and working with animals! Come join an innovative team that is dedicated to serving our community and their animals!
Job applicants must be capable of working in a kennel environment and comfortable with cleaning up after animals. Job applicants must have a flexible schedule.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Customer service experience
- Available to work weekends and holiday shifts as needed.
- Highly motivated, outgoing, respectful, and professional
- Team player capable of multi-tasking in a fast-pace environment
- Knowledge of animal behavior and previous experience with animal handling preferred but not required
- Computer skills in a Windows
- Commitment to the mission, values, goals, and success of SoHumane
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Work is performed in a kennel/shelter setting and also with exposure to various weather conditions while outdoors
- Frequent bending, lifting, reaching, kneeling, walking and, standing on feet 8 hours per day while performing job functions
- Exposure to disinfectant solutions when cleaning
- Consistently exposed to animals and animal allergens under conditions with limited alterations available
- Lifting of up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodations
