Jackson County Employment Opportunity
Jackson County Mental Health Crisis Team is hiring for a QMHP to work as part of our Mobile Crisis Response Team, specifically with youth and their families. The Mobile Crisis Team Youth Therapist will provide skilled and compassionate responses to youth and their families in the community, reducing the need for unnecessary emergency room visits or law enforcement involvement.
Jackson County is simultaneously recruiting for two similar positions. These titles of these recruitments are “Extra Help QMHP (Licensed) – Mobile Crisis Youth Team Therapist” and QMHP (Unlicensed) – Mobile Crisis Youth Team Therapist”. Pre-Employment Requirements and/or Preferences
- This is an “Extra Help” position, which allows for part-time work and a flexible schedule.
- Minimum requirements include a Master’s degree in a behavioral health field.
- Strong candidates will have previous experience with youth and families.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as well as ability to work independently.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
- Must pass a criminal background check prior to hire.
- Must submit an acceptable DMV certified court print prior to hire.

Job Duties and Requirements
- Respond as part of the Mobile Crisis Response Team to youth and their families in the community
- Conduct risk assessments, provide intervention to deescalate crisis events, and engage the youth and their families in safety planning.
- Provide stabilization services to youth and their families, which could include continued mobile outreach, follow-up, and care coordination.
- Provide short-term therapy with youth and their families to provide a bridge in treatment while they establish ongoing services.
- Work closely with local hospitals, schools, and youth-serving agencies in our community for continuity of care.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Masters degree in social work, psychology, nursing or related field.
License or Certificate:
- Valid state driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
