Job Description:JOB RESPONSIBILITIES FOR CHILDCARE ATTENDANTS AND DRIVERAT ASHBURN VILLAGE SPORTS PAVILIONThe After School Program Attendant is responsible assists in organizing and instructing a recreation program for youth, including arts and crafts, physical activities, and special interest activities. Program attendants are also responsible for maintain the health and safety of the children attending the center by following all Virginia state licensing standards and AVSP policies.Responsibilities:
  • Coordinates and directs varied activities involved in the program.
  • Supervise, communicate, and appropriately interact with children.
  • Maintain confidentiality and privacy of children.
  • Maintain a clean and organized environment by following health and safety policies and standards.
  • Follows all state licensing standards and youth program policies.
  • Attend in-service training and staff meetings.
  • Keep all appropriate records such as records, attendance and time sheets.
  • Know who and how may children are in your group at any given time by using daily roster and tracking methods.
  • Timely and punctual when reporting to work.
  • Display a professional appearance with appropriate dress/uniform.
  • Monitor the health of the program participants.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be willing to follow all state standards and facility policies.
  • Driver must be at least 24 years old and holds a good driving record and willing to drive a bus/van
  • Previous experience working with children and pre-teens preferred.
  • Must be able to accurately keep track of children and follow tracking protocols.
  • Positive and professional attitude towards job, staff, supervisors, clients, and facility.
  • Demonstrate a genuine love and care for children.
  • Adaptable and flexible under stressful and/or unusual situations.
  • A good listener with the ability to show empathy.
  • Must be able to trouble shoot and anticipate problems.
  • Effective leadership skills and a strong work ethic.
  • Excellent customer service skills and parent interactions.
  • Able to show initiative and make decisions.
  • This position requires the ability to stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, walk, and talk.
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
  • Normal work hours: 2:45-6PM, Monday through Friday. Occasional full day hours when Loudoun County Public Schools are closed.
