This is a full-time position with a work schedule of 3pm - 11pm Tuesday - Saturday. Occasional holidays may be needed.

Rise is a comprehensive domestic violence agency, providing wrap around services to victims for over 45 years. We are hiring for a second shift Crisis Intervention Counselor. The Crisis Intervention Counselor works directly with all individuals who are victims of domestic violence and who are staying at shelter. The shelter is staffed 24/7 and in a confidential location. This position also answers our 24 hour hotline. The C.I.C. provides short-term counseling and guidance, intervenes in crisis situations, and provides for the basic needs of all residents of the facility. Other duties include performing assessment for admissions and discharge, determining resident needs, conducting initial counseling on power and control, facilitating group counseling sessions, assisting with implementation of recovery plans, providing emergency coverage for other staff, obtaining community services from other agencies, and sharing cleaning responsibilities with other staff. Staff may occasionally be asked to provide childcare.

Qualifications

- Valid driver's license is required

- 2-year degree in Human Services or a closely related field

- 3 years of verifiable work experience in a human services organization. A combination of relevant experience, education and/or training may be substituted.
