Position Overview:

Requirements for this position are as follows:

Position: Substance Abuse Counselor

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5:00am - 1:30pm

Status: Full - Time Position

We are seeking a Substance Abuse Counselor, who meets California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs certification requirements at our Pico Rivera location.

Substance Abuse Counselor Job Functions

  • A SUD counselor has the overall responsibility for counseling and oversight of assigned patients.
  • A SUD counselor provides individual and/or group counseling for addiction and completes comprehensive assessments, interpretive summary and individualized addiction treatment plans.
  • A SUD counselor maintains the client records and adheres to all State, Federal, Accreditation and Program regulations and performs duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Clinic Manager.

Substance Abuse Counselor Requirements:

This position requires that applicants be Registered Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counselor: Must be registered by one of the agencies accredited by the NCCA and recognized by DHCS, which include CADTP and CCAPP; and who must adhere to all requirements of the California Code of Regulations, Title 9, Chapter 8 and Title 9..

  • Maintain compliance with the requirements for continuing education hours and/or units (CEH or CEU) as determined by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs and/or other regulatory agencies.
  • A SUD counselor candidate must be Registered or Certified with CADTP or CCAPP per California DHCS regulations.
  • Preference will be given to SUD counselors who have experience with medication assisted treatments used in addiction treatment programs.

License/Certification:

  • CADTP (Preferred)
  • CCAPP (Preferred)
  • CAADE (Preferred)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 - $27.00 per hour
