Job description

Inspire Kids, a NYS-approved education program, provides high-quality education for preschool children with developmental delays and special education needs. Serving over 200 students across Orange County, we offer center-based programs in Goshen, Newburgh, and Monroe.

We are currently seeking a School Social Worker to join our dedicated team at our Goshen preschool. Responsibilities include:

Team Collaboration:

  • Actively participate as a member of the Preschool Team, reporting social work intake results and contributing to goal setting and problem analysis.
  • Attend team meetings to support the needs of each student.

Student & Family Support:

  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and staff to provide ongoing guidance and support.
  • Regularly meet with teachers and team members to establish social, emotional, and behavioral goals for students.
  • Offer supportive information for teachers and parents to prepare for CPSE, CSE, and other official meetings.

Documentation & Record-Keeping:

  • Prepare and maintain various records and reports, including detailed case notes, therapy documentation, and recommendations.
  • Complete quarterly progress notes for each student and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Qualifications:
  • New York State licensure and current registration as an LCSW or LMSW required
  • PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) experience preferred
  • Experience working with families and/or children

This is a school-year position with an additional six-week summer session.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $57,000.00 - $63,500.00 per year

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Provide emotional support served to families of students
  • Act as a member of the school crisis team and provide intervention to students
  • Practice as a school social worker in Indiana
  • Provide interventions for students in crisis
  • Provide social work services to identified students or other clients through individual or group counseling
  • Conduct the social development study for students referred for special education services
  • Address social-emotional concerns of students
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling in response to school-wide crises
  • Evaluate students to determine need for school social work or other services
  • Mobilize school and community resources to support the student in the educational setting
  • Ensure school staff and support center
  • Provide individual and group therapeutic counseling to students
  • Provide individual and group therapeutic counseling to students and families
  • Provide counseling to students and parents on an individual basis as well as provide counseling for students age K to 6th grade with behavioral and emotional disabilities
  • Provide comprehensive school social work services to parents, students and school staff, addressing barriers that limit a student from receiving full benefit from educational experience
  • Work as a school social worker collaborating with other staff and community leaders
  • Provide consultative services to students' families and school professionals regarding student need and disability
  • Providecomprehensive school social work services to parents, students and schoolstaff, addressing barriers that limit a student from receiving full benefitfrom educational experience
