Drury High School is seeking a dedicated and student-centered Behavior Technician to support the social-emotional and behavioral needs of students across the entire school community. The Behavior Technician will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, providing direct behavioral interventions, supporting implementation of behavior plans, and fostering a positive school climate. This role is essential in promoting student engagement, safety, and well-being throughout the school day. Hours are 6.5 per day for 5 days per week when school is in session.
This is a school year only position (180 days). Salary for this position is $23, 000.Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with administrators, school counselors, special educators, and classroom teachers to proactively address school-wide behavioral needs.Facilitates interventions for students based on the students needs.Support students during unstructured times (e.g., arrival, lunch, recess, hallway transitions, and dismissal) by building positive relationships and providing in-the-moment coaching and redirection.Implement evidence-based strategies under the guidance of a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).Assist in de-escalating student behaviors and respond to behavioral incidents using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.Collect and maintain accurate behavior data to track progress and inform decisions around student supports.Attend and participate in meetings (IEP, behavior planning, team meetings) as needed to support the development and implementation of individualized and school-wide behavior strategies.Provide mentoring, modeling, and support for students with ongoing behavioral or social-emotional challenges.Maintain a calm, professional demeanor and build trusting relationships with students and families.The Committee's policy of nondiscrimination will extend to students, staff, the general public, and individuals with whom it does business; No person shall be excluded from or discriminated against in admission to a public school of any town or in obtaining the advantages, privileges, and courses of study of such public school on account of age, race, color, sex, gender identity, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or homelessness.
