About Job

About:
COBB Psychotherapy is a full service group private practice in New York City. Our offices are conveniently located in Midtown Manhattan and Brooklyn Heights. We offer evening and weekend appointments, as well as virtual sessions. Our therapists tailor treatments to meet the specific needs of adults, couples, adolescents, and children - we also facilitate groups and see families when appropriate.

At COBB, we recognize that each therapist is a unique individual with a particular set of skills, but we operate collectively as a group of practitioners who support one another. We strive to give our therapists the autonomy to approach their clients with an individualized approach that best fits their needs. We are a therapist-centric practice where community and culture are paramount and our mission is to help our clients be their most authentic selves.

Clinical Supervisor, LCSW (Part-Time + Full-Time Options)

Position Summary:
We are committed to providing thoughtful and comprehensive individual and group supervision, rooted in proven evidence-based-practices while also learning about new and emerging clinical breakthroughs. One of our goals is to prepare our therapists for their fully licensed future, helping them to cultivate their clinical voice while emphasizing the importance of clinical documentation and navigating the insurance landscape.

As we grow, we are looking to hire multiple clinical supervisors in both Manhattan and Brooklyn offices. Supervisors will provide clinical and administrative support, mentorship, and supervision for 2-5 supervisees. They will also maintain their own clinical caseload, both full-time and part-time options are available. The clinical supervisor will have regular, structured meetings with supervisees for case conceptualization, evaluating goals and treatment plans, and providing guidance and support to graduate MSW interns, LMSWs and MHC-LP level clinicians. Supervisors will take part in ongoing training and management of clinical staff and will work with supervisees to ensure appropriate documentation is completed in a timely manner.

While applicants who are newer to providing supervision are welcome and will be supported in their development, applicants are *particularly* encouraged to apply if they have their SIFI and have experience and training within specific populations / modalities (i.e. disordered eating, trauma, OCD, DBT, EMDR, etc).

  • Clinical Supervisor Responsibilities:
  • Commit to coming in person 2 days/week in office
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly individual clinical / administrative supervision
  • Attend monthly practice-wide meetings (such as Town Hall updates)
  • Attend monthly “sup-on-sup” supervision group with fellow supervisors
  • Assume responsibility for counseling, motivating, and improving performance of practitioners
  • Sign on supervisees notes in a timely manner, ensuring appropriate accuracy, and quality of clinical documentation
  • Address issues and conduct performance reviews as needed
  • Support practitioners with navigating complex cases and crisis situations as needed
  • In addition to above responsibilities as a supervisor, applicants will be expected to conduct 5 weekly sessions from their own caseload and complete clinical documentation in a timely manner.
