Iowa City Hospice is seeking a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize music as a therapeutic tool to support the emotional, cognitive, and social needs of clients. This role involves developing individualized treatment plans and facilitating music-based interventions during end of life care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine clients' needs and goals.
- Develop and implement personalized music therapy treatment plans.
- Facilitate individual and family therapy sessions using music.
- Monitor, document and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Educate clients and families about the benefits of music therapy.

Requirements
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Therapy or related field.
- Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC).
- Strong knowledge of music theory and various musical instruments.
- One year hospice and palliative care experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work with diverse populations and adapt to individual needs.
- Empathy and a passion for helping others through music.
- Understanding the hospice philosophy and the unique needs of patients and families facing end-of-life
