DOMESTIC VIOLENCE COUNSELOR OPPORTUNITY 

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient Domestic Violence Facilitator to join our team. The Domestic Violence Counselor at Maze of Life Resource Center is dedicated to providing support and intervention to individuals affected by domestic violence. This role requires specialized training and a deep understanding of the dynamics of partner abuse, making the Partner Abuse Intervention Program (PAIP) or Batters Intervention Prevention Program (BIPP) credential essential. The counselor will work directly with survivors and perpetrators, facilitating recovery and encouraging healthier relationship patterns through individual and group sessions. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence, along with a proven ability to facilitate group sessions and individual counseling effectively. As a Domestic Violence Counselor, you will play a crucial role in providing participants with the tools and insights necessary to foster personal responsibility and promote healthier relationships.

 

REQUIREMENTS

- Minimum of 2 years of direct experience working with individuals affected by domestic violence, preferably in a facilitative or therapeutic capacity.

- Certification or training in domestic violence prevention and intervention, specifically in Partner Abuse Intervention Programs (PAIP) or Batters Intervention Prevention Program (BIPP).

- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain accurate documentation.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with a diverse clientele.

- Proven ability to facilitate group discussions and manage group dynamics effectively.

- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in the field of domestic violence intervention.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Facilitate workshops and educational sessions on topics related to domestic violence, safety planning, and healthy relationship dynamics.

- Conduct comprehensive assessments of participants to identify their needs, motivations, and barriers to change.

- Develop and implement tailored intervention strategies that address the unique circumstances of each participant while adhering to the best practices in domestic violence intervention.

- Monitor participant progress and provide ongoing feedback, support, and accountability throughout the program.

- Collaborate with community resources and partner organizations to ensure comprehensive support for participants, including referrals to additional services as needed.

- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of participant attendance, progress, and outcomes in compliance with legal and organizational guidelines.

- Attend regular training and professional development sessions to stay informed of the latest research, methodologies, and best practices in domestic violence intervention.

- Actively participate in team meetings, contributing to the continuous improvement of program delivery and participant outcomes.
