Full-time Elementary School Counselor position supporting J.R. McIlvaine Early Childhood Center for the 2025-2026 school year.
***Please note this position will support students as a School Counselor as well as teaching a few classes throughout the day following the district approved curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS: Individuals who are eligible or possess Elementary Counseling and Elementary Education certification are encouraged to apply. Successful Elementary classroom teaching experience is preferred but not required. All candidates must apply on-line.
Applicant must meet State of Delaware certification requirements for Elementary Education and Elementary School Counseling. Successful candidates must provide evidence of successful PRAXIS II scores or a valid out of state teaching license. An educator applying for a license in the State of DE with less than 1 year of experience will be placed on an Initial License. Applicants with one completed year of experience, but less than 4 years of experience will receive an Initial License.
SALARY: In accordance with the State of Delaware and local salary schedules, based on experience and degree. Benefits package included.
PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
  • Individuals must provide official transcripts, if applicable, updated resume, and three (3) letters of recommendation.
  • All persons employed by the Caesar Rodney School District are required to submit a criminal background check and a tuberculosis test.
  • Anyone offered employment is required to provide the following: proper identification (Social Security Card and Driver's License), documentation of eligibility for employment in the U.S.A., completion of I-9 form, and completion of paperwork for the Delaware Child Protection Registry.
