GENERAL STATEMENT
The Behavior Technician will work with school staff in supporting the needs of students with behavioral difficulties in the Least Restrictive Environment for each student. The Behavior Technician will work under the direction of the Behavior Analyst with individual students and district wide programming for special education students. The Behavior Technician will participate in any training that is provided for staff in strategies to support students and build capacity within the district for accommodating students with behavioral difficulties.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Behavior Technician will perform the following duties in cooperation with, and under the direction of the Behavior Analyst, the Director of Pupil Personnel and school based administration.
1.) Assist in implementing Behavior Intervention Plans for students.
2.) Participate in FBA reviews.
3.) Implement verbal management and de-escalation techniques.
4.) Support students in the acquisition of appropriate social, behavioral and academic skills.
5.) Participate in meetings involving students as appropriate or assigned by supervisors.
6.) Communicate appropriately with students and staff.
7.) Regularly meet with school based staff to review data and behavior outcomes for students.
8.) Participate in staff training in the area of behavior management and discreet trials.
9.) Support the therapeutic milieu for in-district programs.
10.) Participate in crisis management as appropriate.
11.) Participate in PPTs and child study teams as appropriate.
12.) Performs all other duties as assigned by the Behavior Analyst and/or the Director of Pupil Personnel.
Compensation: $23.29
