About Job

Allegria Village Senior Living is a senior living community in Dearborn that features Independent Living, Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing all on one campus.

We are currently seeking a compassionate, creative, and organized Memory Care Activities Coordinator to lead and manage a vibrant activities program tailored to meet the unique needs of residents in our Memory Care neighborhood. This individual will be responsible for designing and delivering meaningful and engaging experiences that promote wellness, purpose, and connection for residents living with cognitive impairment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a diverse, person-centered activities program specifically for memory care residents.
  • Plan, schedule, lead, and monitor daily programming to promote engagement, cognitive stimulation, and enjoyment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere that supports each resident's capabilities and preferences.
  • Assess and document resident interests, needs, participation levels, and progress.
  • Create and distribute a monthly activities calendar and community newsletter.
  • Prepare monthly reports on program effectiveness and resident satisfaction.
  • Assist in training and orienting staff and volunteers to support programming.
  • Attend resident care conferences and team meetings as needed.
  • Ensure all programming complies with relevant regulatory requirements and best practices in dementia care.


Required Experience
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Memory Care or Activities/Recreation role
  • Experience working with individuals living with dementia or cognitive decline strongly preferred
  • Prior experience planning, organizing, or leading group or individual programming in a healthcare, senior living, or similar environment


Qualifications & Skills
  • Previous experience in a senior living or memory care setting preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Enthusiasm and creativity in developing meaningful activities
  • Ability to adapt to the changing needs of residents with dementia
  • Comfortable leading group and one-on-one programs
  • Familiarity with basic medical and dementia care terminology
  • Professional, compassionate, and team-oriented approach
  • Flexible availability, including occasional weekends or evenings


Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
  • Ability to perform light physical activity and assist with resident participation when needed
  • Comfortable working in an active, resident-centered environment
