About Job

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Heart and Vascular Institute at University Health is seeking a qualified Limb Salvage Program Coordinator. This registered nurse (RN) position plays a critical role in improving outcomes for patients at risk of amputation due to peripheral arterial disease (PAD), diabetes, and other limb-threatening conditions. The coordinator is responsible for coordinating and streamlining patient care across interventional cardiology, vascular surgery, endocrinology, podiatry, wound care, and other specialties. In this role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for referred patients, triage cases based on clinical need, and facilitate timely scheduling and follow-up. The coordinator ensures continuity of care across outpatient and inpatient settings, supports quality improvement through database management and registry participation, and represents the program in outreach activities. This position works closely with multidisciplinary teams—including structural/interventional cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and radiology—to ensure efficient referrals, pre-procedure preparation, and longitudinal patient tracking. Your efforts will directly contribute to improved clinical outcomes, care coordination, and program growth.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with current RN licensure in the State of Texas, BSN preferred. Three years recent, full-time hospital experience preferably in wound care, vascular surgery, cardiology, or diabetes management. Prior experience with case management, care coordination, or program development strongly preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills preferred.

LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION
Current license from the Board of Nurse Examiners of the State of Texas to practice as a registered nurse is required. National certification in related field is preferred. Must have a current AHA BLS Healthcare Provider or AHA BLS Instructor Provider card.
