We are currently searching for a full-time, tenure-track position to join our Counseling Department. Bergen County Academies is fortunate to attract students with a multitude of talents and interests. The Counseling Department provides a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for students to learn and grow in an academically challenging institution. Our mission is to provide academic, social, career and emotional support at each grade level in order for students to reach and surpass their individual potential. Partnering with teachers, administrators, parents, and community members, we provide the essential support that students require during their adolescent years.


Qualifications:

1. Possess a New Jersey DOE Certificate (Standard) – Student Personnel Services or School Counselor and /or obtain an emergency certificate.

2. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

3. Ability to communicate effectively with highly motivated, gifted student population, parents, and colleagues.

4.Comfortable with teaching classes in a seminar-style curriculum.

5. Familiar with technology such as Naviance, Maia, or SCOIR – highly preferred.

6. Individual and group counseling experience a plus.

7. New Jersey residency required within one (1) year from date of hire.
