*A Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) is expected for this role

*Master's Degree and LSW/LPC required for position

Responsibilities

Provide substance abuse counseling services.

  • Provide assigned patient counseling services and case management.
  • Systematically and continually assess the patient's coping mechanisms and progress.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and/or referral sources.
  • Coordinate patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge with other healthcare members.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
    • Clinical Counselor credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional

      Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Counselor credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation

      obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Social Worker specializing in Clinical Practice credentialed from the Illinois Department of

      Financial and Professional Regulation obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
    • Licensed Social Worker (LSW) or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) credentialed from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
    • Counselor specializing in Addiction credentialed from the Illinois Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Professional Certification Association (IADAPCA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Required or eligible for certification within one year.
  • BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.


Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate'

    degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Additional Preferences

*Master's degree in Counseling or Social Work

*Must have LPC or LSW

*Flexible Day Shift Schedule: You choose your working days, but you must include Tues evenings for a group meeting from 6:00 to 7:30 PM
