Licensed Social Worker - Detroit, MI
Job Type: Full-time
Shift: Monday-Friday (8:30 AM - 5:00 PM)
Job Description:
•We are looking for a compassionate social worker to help serve the communities that we have a presence in by assisting our clients that are affected by issues such as neglect, child abuse, domestic violence, mental health, and parental substance abuse.
•Cases will be handled by phone or in person.
•You will be in charge of assessing clients and gathering relevant information about their cases, providing crisis intervention, and contacting and making referrals to other agencies and services.
•A key to succeeding in this role is the ability to stay calm and empathize with clients when they are upset.
•You should also be aware of others' reactions and understand why they react as they do.
Requirements:
•Must have a Master's Degree or higher
•Active LICENSE currently in the state of Michigan.
•Full license (LMSW, LP, or LPC) preferred. Or must hold state licensure (LLMSW, LLPC, TLLP, LMSW, LPC, LLP). Candidates must have ONE of the listed licensures to be considered.
•One year of experience in the examination, evaluation and treatment of minors and their families - Required.
•Electronic medical record experience - Preferred.
•Cannot accept candidates who are on student/work visas, and/or require sponsorship to work in the U.S. at this time.
•Must have acceptable MDHHS Central Registry and criminal background check clearance.
