The Licensed Mental Health Counselor is a member of a collaborative practice model that includes patients, nurses, clinical resource coordinators, physicians, and other practitioners, caregivers, and the community.

  • Shift Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (May Vary)
  • Shift Days: Monday thru Friday
  • Location: Clearwater, FL
  • Weekend Work: None
  • On Call: No

Responsibilities:

  • Providing solution-focused mental health and/or substance abuse treatment to individuals, couples and families in an outpatient medical setting (Family Medicine Residency Program).
  • Provides both brief intervention and therapy services.
  • Completes Psycho-social assessments, treatment plans, discharge planning and referrals to community resources.
  • Additional responsibilities include coordinating and precepting Family Medicine Resident Physicians during their Behavioral Medicine rotation.
  • Provides team building exercises to staff as requested.
  • Conducts formal lectures during noon conference as requested on Mental Health topics as it relates to the Family Physician.
  • Assists physician with Baker Act proceedings.
  • Provides consultation on abuse/neglect situations.
  • Provides consultation services to medical providers.
  • Provide crisis intervention and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Winter Haven location provides assistance with supervision of psychology trainees.


Requirements:

  • Required - LMHC (Mental Health) - License; Or - LCSW (Social Work) - License
  • Required - Masters - Behavioral Health
  • Required - 1 year of Healthcare
