Behavioral Support Specialist (Contract Position)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Support Specialist to provide temporary services for behavioral assessment, monitoring, and support. This position plays a critical role in helping individuals receive consistent, person-centered behavioral services in alignment with the Supports Program and Community Care Program.
As part of a collaborative and mission-driven team, you'll engage in both direct and indirect assessments, develop support plans, and offer training and consultation to ensure quality care across multiple service settings. The position is part-time, with a combination of scheduled hours and availability required on an as-needed basis. The role reports to the COO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct Behavioral Re-assessments (as needed) and provide ongoing monthly support across assigned locations.
- Perform direct and indirect assessments, including:
- Monitoring
- Staff training and coaching
- Behavior plan modifications
- Data analysis and documentation
- Deliver continued behavioral support based on assessed or requested needs.
- Respond to consultation requests between scheduled visits, offering professional guidance and recommendations.
- Support new individuals introduced during the contract term with dedicated assessments and integration into the ongoing support plan (may require adjustment to contract scope or fees).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD).
- Strong knowledge of behavioral support planning, data collection, and behavior modification techniques.
- Comfortable with independent fieldwork across multiple locations.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Additional Requirements:
- Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs independently, ability to assist in a 2 person lift for residents, while using a Hoyer lift
- Submit to a criminal background check and be determined to be not disqualified by the Department of Human Services prior to hire.
- Employee shall submit to drug testing prior to employment.
- Employee shall submit to drug testing conducted randomly and for cause.
- Agree to have their name checked against the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities and Child Abuse Record Information.
- Complete cooperation with the licensee (Hope Christian Services) and department staff in any inspection, inquiry or investigation.
