Mala Child & Family Institute is an integrative mental health clinic dedicated to ending intergenerational cycles of trauma, providing neurodiversity affirming care, and being a safe place for all. We are offering both w2 and contractual opportunities to a fully licensed art therapist who is a licensed mental health provider in the state of Michigan. This part-time role is ideal for a clinician who is passionate about using the creative process as a pathway for healing, regulation, and self-expression, especially for neurodivergent children, teens, and young adults. Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group art therapy sessions to children, adolescents, and/or young adults
  • Develop strengths-based treatment plans that support emotional regulation, sensory needs, and identity expression
  • Maintain clear documentation and communicate regularly with caregivers and interdisciplinary team members
  • Collaborate with psychologists, occupational therapists, and other mental health providers
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and affirming therapy space that honors autonomy and creativity

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Art Therapy or related field
  • Credentialed (or credential-eligible) as an ATR or ATR-P; fully licensed or limited licensed in Michigan
  • Experience working with neurodivergent youth and/or individuals with complex trauma
  • Strong understanding of sensory integration, attachment, and expressive therapies
  • Passion for equity-driven, client-centered care

Preference will be given those with advanced training and experience with:

  • Three or more years of post-licensure psychotherapy experience
  • Post-graduate continuing/advanced training

All candidates must be licensed by the State of Michigan. Organizational and clinical documentation skills are a must.

Hours per week:

  • A full time clinician at our clinic sees about 20-27 clients a week. 30 - 50% of those clients can be seen virtually. About another 10 hours per week is spent on writing notes, updating treatment plans, completing CE, attending team meetings, and contacting collaterals.

Pay: $60.00 - $80.00 per hour
