About Job

Overview:

WJCS is seeking a part-time Social Worker to support Jewish senior participants in our Holocaust Survivor Program and other Jewish Programs across WJCS. Reporting to the Coordinator of Holocaust Survivor Programs and the Coordinator of Partners in Caring, the Social Worker will provide assessments, individual and group programming and care management.

This is a part-time position (7 hours/week) with a pay rate of $35.00/hour.


Responsibilities:
As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Conduct DAF assessments for Holocaust Survivors in their homes.
  • Offer services to Holocaust Survivors individual and group programming as needed.
  • Deliver individual and group programming to Jewish seniors affiliated with to Partners in Caring Synagogues and JCCs.
  • Provide case management and friendly home visiting as needed.
  • Assist with social programs for Holocaust Survivors and Second Generation.
  • Complete all recording and statistical procedures required by agency and Claims Conference including reporting in Diamond, monthly statistical sheets, schedules, surveys, etc.
  • Make appropriate referrals as needed.

Requirements:
We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:
  • A Masters Degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work.
  • Experience working with adults age 60 and older.
  • Familiarity with the Jewish community and knowledge of the needs and experiences of Holocaust Survivors.
  • Ability to work with Seniors and their families.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and to relate well with supervisors, program officials, employees and agency clients.
  • Capacity to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Ability to drive to various programs and meetings with own vehicle.
