Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated School Counselor for grades 6-12. The ideal candidate has a strong background in student counseling and a proven ability to guide high school students through the college admissions process. You will play a central role in helping students evaluate academic options, select colleges, access scholarships, and plan for their future.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students in academic, personal, and career development.
- Provide expert guidance on college admissions, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
- Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions.
- Assist with course selection, graduation planning, and summer school arrangements.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to support student needs.
- Maintain accurate student records and provide timely documentation.
- Facilitate student and parent orientations.
- Serve as a liaison between students, parents, school staff, and external organizations.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling or related field.
- Florida DOE Certification in Guidance preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Strong understanding of high school graduation requirements and college readiness.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and care.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Starting salary: $50,500+
