Job Goal: Provide school psychologist internship experiences to students seeking an internship placement.
Job Qualifications:
- Be enrolled in a NASP accredited school psychology program
- Must be eligible to participate in an internship per the institution
- Must pass a background check
- Have excellent skills in the areas of teamwork, oral and written communication, and organization
- Be in good academic standing and meet all graduate school program criteria to apply for the internship
Essential Functions:
Under the supervision of a Certified School Psychologist, the School Psychology intern will:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations including cognitive, academic, attention, social/emotional, and functional behavior assessments
- Provide counseling services
- Participate actively in IEP, 504, and MTSS Team meetings in order to produce comprehensive and appropriate educational plans for students
- Serve as a liaison between the school, student, parent, and external agencies
- Provide crisis intervention for students, which may include risk assessments, safety contracts and social service interventions
- Collaborate with parents and teachers, engaging them as partners in the student's intervention Consult with staff to assist teachers in planning effective educational strategies for all students Grow and learn in a supportive, collegial environment
- Perform other related duties as requested by the supervisor
