Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP), the largest network of comprehensive school-based health centers in the nation, provides wide ranging medical, mental, dental, and community health services to more than 42,000 students attending NYC Department of Education public schools. The Montefiore Medical Group - School Health Program provides high- quality medical, mental health, dental, and community health services at 33 School-Based health centers in the Bronx. Position Overview The MSHP Mental Health Assistant Director is a 12-month position which provides .6 FTE administrative support, clinical supervision, and evaluation of Mental Health Providers with .4 FTE devoted to direct patient care. The Assistant Director develops, documents, implements and supervises service models that are sensitive to the philosophy of the School Health Program and are compliant with oversight regulations. Responsibilities Include: • Provides supervision, guidance, counsel and evaluation of mental health personnel • Oversees mental health referral system at assigned sites • Provides tools to improve clinicians' skills • Consults with supervisees on outreach and prevention initiatives • Responsible for training and orientation of new Mental Health Providers. • Participates in School Health administrative, mental health divisional/supervisor, and site-specific meetings/activities as appropriate. Qualifications: • Must possess a N.Y.S. license. • Completion of APA accredited training program. Psychology candidates should be adept at working in an environment that encourages interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork to enable patient care with a desire to work in a mission-driven environment to make a strong positive community impact. Experience delivering school/parent presentations on mental health issues is desirable. Positions are full time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am-4:00 pm.
