Position Summary

The UNMDepartment of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences is eager to put togetherthe right package for an individual with a passion for adult inpatientpsychiatry and teaching, coupled with an interest in joining a team oftalented, caring and committed faculty members. Applications are being accepted for an academic faculty psychiatrist,suitable for appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or fullProfessor, for a position as an inpatient attending psychiatrist on ourAdult Psychiatry Division's Inpatient Service. The clinical assignment will be at UNMPsychiatric Center. The successfulcandidate can take full advantage of the opportunities available in our vibrantand active academic community.

As an attendingpsychiatrist in our 36-bed adult psychiatry inpatient service, the personselected will have a voice in developing the unit's direction as well asopportunities for multicultural clinical care and scholarly and collaborativeresearch activities across the Health Sciences campus. There are many opportunities for professionaldevelopment in leadership, administration, and education, including mentoringand supervision of medical students, residents, fellows, and trainees inrelated disciplines.

Salary andacademic rank are commensurate with experience and academic background.

Qualifications

MinimumQualifications:

  • DoctorateDegree (MD or equivalent);
  • Board certifiedor board eligible in General Psychiatry;
  • Clinicalexperience - minimum 1 year;
  • Licensable inNew Mexico;
  • Must beeligible to work in the United States.

PreferredQualifications:

  • Educational,teaching and supervision experience with residents, fellows and medicalstudents;
  • Clinicalleadership experience in an academic setting;
  • A demonstratedcommitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success, as well asworking with broadly diverse communities.
