Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize music as a therapeutic tool to support individuals with various needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism, dementia, and pediatric populations. This role involves creating and implementing individualized treatment plans that promote emotional, cognitive, and social well-being through music.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assessments to determine the therapeutic needs of clients.
• Develop and implement personalized music therapy treatment plans.
• Facilitate group therapy sessions that encourage participation and engagement through music.
• Provide individual counseling using music as a medium for expression and healing.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate music therapy into overall care plans.
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and coding for all therapy sessions.
• Evaluate client progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
• Engage in recreational therapy activities that incorporate music to enhance client experiences.
• Educate clients and families about the benefits of music therapy.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Board Certification in Music Therapy (MT-BC) is required.
• Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or dementia care is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in group therapy techniques and individual counseling methods.
• Strong skills in medical documentation and coding practices.
• Ability to create engaging therapeutic activities tailored to diverse populations.
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for helping others through music.
• Flexibility to adapt therapeutic approaches based on client needs.

Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour
