Job Summary:

Career Success Schools is seeking a dedicated Certified School Counselor to support our students, families, and staff by providing essential social services, counseling, and resources. The counselor will play a crucial role in addressing student well-being, mental health, and social-emotional development to ensure academic success and a positive school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct social work services, including counseling and case management, to students facing social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
  • Develop and implement intervention plans for students in crisis or experiencing difficulties at school or home.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school administrators, and parents to create strategies that support student success.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine student and family needs.
  • Connect students and families with community resources, including mental health services, housing assistance, and financial support.
  • Lead or participate in student intervention teams, Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), and 504 Plan meetings.
  • Facilitate social-emotional learning (SEL) programs, workshops, and support groups for students.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential documentation of services provided.
  • Advocate for students' rights and needs within the school and community.
  • Stay up to date with best practices, laws, and policies affecting school social work and student welfare.

Qualifications:

  • School Counselor Certificate
  • Experience working with children, adolescents, and families in a school or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, crisis intervention, and behavioral management strategies.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse student populations, including at-risk youth.
  • Proficiency in documentation, reporting, and confidentiality standards.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
