Since 1993, SEPA Mujer has been a vital grassroots non-profit organization dedicated to social change, women’s rights, immigrant rights, and other crucial issues. As the only Latina Rights Organization of its kind, we provide safe spaces for empowerment, leadership development, civic engagement, and legal assistance. Our impactful work is achieved through unique training, workshops, monthly meetings, presentations, tabling, press work, and action-oriented engagement.

Position Overview
The Transitional Housing Coordinator plays a vital role in providing safe, stable housing for Latina survivors experiencing homelessness or fleeing domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, or other crises. This position ensures survivors receive comprehensive support services that address housing barriers and foster long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities
I. Program Leadership & Management:
- Program Oversight: Lead the comprehensive management and coordination of the program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance program effectiveness and reach.
- Outreach & Engagement: Drive robust outreach efforts to connect with target communities and build strong client relationships.
- Stakeholder Relations: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and community partners to foster collaborative initiatives.
- Goal Attainment: Monitor and ensure the achievement of all program reach and service delivery goals.
II. Reporting & Data Management:
- Accurate Documentation: Ensure all services provided are meticulously and accurately documented within the Salesforce database.
- Time Tracking: Maintain precise project time recording to comply with funding requirements and support financial reporting.
- Reporting Excellence: Prepare and submit timely and accurate weekly internal program reports and semiannual reports.
III. Supervision & Professional Development:
- Supervisory Sessions: Conduct weekly supervision meetings with the Program Officer to discuss progress, challenges, and strategies.
- Meeting Participation: Actively participate in all required staff meetings, as well as relevant grantee meetings and training sessions.
- Project Collaboration: Attend and contribute to all essential project-specific meetings.
IV. Organizational Engagement:
- Event Support: Volunteer at a minimum of two major organizational fundraising events annually to support SEPA Mujer's mission.
V. Housing Support & Case Management
- Receive and review case files from referrals (internal & external), including initial resource and needs assessments.
- Initiate and oversee the permanent housing search process using internal resources and community partnerships.
- Build relationships with local housing agencies, real estate brokers, landlords, and relevant stakeholders to secure housing options.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to address evolving housing and support needs.
- Maintain accurate records of housing resources, client interactions, and case progress.
VI. Client Advocacy & Support
- Provide trauma-informed, survivor-centered support throughout the housing process.
- Conduct regular follow-ups with clients to ensure resource effectiveness and resolve any issues.
- Serve as a liaison between survivors and service providers to ensure appropriate support.
- Clearly communicate that all services, including housing assistance, are voluntary.
- Offer continuous safety planning, recognizing that safety risks can evolve over time.
- Ensure culturally competent service delivery and work effectively with diverse populations.

- In house and outside supporting services
VII. Holistic Empowerment & Community Integration
- Support clients in workforce integration by providing resources for job placement and career development.
- Assist children with school enrollment and educational integration.
- Conduct Know-Your-Rights training related to housing and labor laws to empower clients.
- Collaborate with SEPA Mujer’s in-house services, including legal representation, ESL classes, financial literacy programs, individual and group counseling, and cash assistance programs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in social work, urban planning, housing management, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven background in housing assistance, case management, or social services.
- Knowledge & Skills: Familiarity with issues related to domestic violence, human trafficking, and trauma-informed care.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse clients and community partners.
- Experience working with immigrant communities.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Monday.com, Canva).
- Valid NYS driver's license.
- Fingerprint clearance.
- Creative and willing to lead a culturally specific program.
- Language: Bilingual (English/Spanish) proficiency is required.
Candidates must pass SCR, SEL, and OCFS Fingerprint background checks before hire.
Provide two references: one personal and one work related.
Job Type & Salary
Job Type: Full-Time, with some evenings and weekends required. Salary: Commensurate with experience ($53,000 to $60,000).
