GDI Enterprises is a community-based behavioral and mental health agency serving Houston, College Station, and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Mental Health Skills Specialist to provide family-oriented, individual, and/or group rehabilitative mental health services, skills training and development, medication training, parenting skills training, and intensive case management services to children and adults. The Mental Health Skills Specialist will provide direct services on an outpatient basis in the community, at home, or at school to clients on their caseload. Services shall include psycho-educational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in reducing dysfunction. The Mental Health Skills Specialist will deliver services that are client-centered and family-centered. Services shall be provided through intensive, time-limited, goal-specific interventions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide curriculum based rehabilitative services to families, individuals and groups in the community, home, or school.
• Maintain all case records (notes, treatment plans, and uniform assessments) in accordance with agency standards.
• Monitor service authorizations for clients receiving mental health services
• Prepare and present all assigned cases for review by supervisor, as required
• Specifies the goals and actions to address the medical, social/behavioral, educational, and other services and supports needed by the client;
• Facilitates activities such as ensuring the active participation of the eligible client and working with the client (or the client’s authorized health care decision maker) and others to develop these goals; and
• Identifies a course of action to respond to the assessed needs of the eligible client.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Maintain a current driver’s license and maintain current insurance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $41,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year
