Job Description Summary
The Recreational Therapist develops, coordinates, and provides hands-on evaluation and facilitation of therapeutic activities to our health and wellness customers, on an outpatient basis.
Responsibilities And Duties

Hands-on Facilitation 1. Provides hands-on programming to retail customers in delivering recreational therapy services, including clients transfers for adaptive programming as needed 2. Coordinates schedules and programming with facilities and professionals to ensure smooth implementation of programs and activities
35%
Program Development, Training, and Coordination 1. Responsible for developing recreational curriculum and programs, with emphasis on central Ohio region 2. Develops teaching guides and educational materials for use in hospital and community programs 3. Oversees and trains volunteer staff for all related programs and events, assists with customer safety 4. Reviews and updates programs and materials annually or as needed 5. Coordinates and communicates with incoming and returning clients to assess interests and program participation readiness

Quality and Outcomes development 1. Assist with development of track-able quality outcomes for program participants, such as intake and end-of-season metrics, and implements these metrics. 2. Works with rehab services or other clinical services to determine appropriate outcome measures, education and delivery for all evaluators, and re-evaluates outcome tools for appropriateness on a regular basis. 3. Works with Information Services to develop appropriate electronic tools or databases for optimal capture and information flow and analysis. 4. Works with program staff to determine and report on program efficacy and outcomes 5. Oversees and trains program staff, including volunteers, to ensure competency and consistency in measuring and reporting outcome measures.

Marketing and Outreach 1. In conjunction with Neuroscience program managers and directors, develops marketing materials to increase awareness of system and community recreational therapy offerings 2. Promote program and support local community groups, rehab facilities, and central Ohio hospitals looking to partner with OhioHealth services 3. Assists program managers and directors in coordinating and implementing fundraising events 4. In conjunction with Neuroscience program managers and directors, works with OhioHealth Foundation to implement and continue ongoing fundraising activities and grant writing.
Minimum Qualifications
