Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with patients in various settings, including hospitals and corrections facility medical clinics, providing essential support in their mental health treatment. Your primary focus will be on patient observation, crisis intervention, and medication administration, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with psychiatric conditions.

Duties

• Monitor and observe patients' behavior and mental state to report any changes to the healthcare team.
• Assist in the administration of medications as prescribed, ensuring adherence to medical guidelines.
• Provide crisis intervention and support to patients experiencing acute episodes or distress.
• Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to patient care.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Support patients with daily living activities while promoting independence and dignity.
• Engage in therapeutic communication to build rapport and trust with patients.
• Participate in training sessions to stay updated on best practices in psychiatric care.

Experience
Ideal candidates will possess experience or knowledge in the following areas:

• Psychiatry or mental health settings, particularly within acute care environments.
• Working with individuals with disabilities or special needs.
• Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to psychiatric care.
• Previous experience in crisis intervention techniques.
• Understanding of medication administration protocols.
• Proficiency in maintaining accurate medical records and documentation practices.

The schedules are set based on facility needs. Applicants must be open to any shift available.
