About Job

Position Summary:Join one of Central Florida’s oldest and most established social service agencies in our effort to combat homelessness by getting individuals into housing rapidly. With locations in Downtown Orlando and Ocoee, the Christian Service Center has been serving Central Florida families with compassion and care for since 1971. In 2024, we rescued 1,236 individuals from homelessness through homeless prevention services and moves off the street and into safe, sustainable housing solutions.

We're seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Intake Coordinator dedicated to our housing Access Center. This position serves as the primary point of contact for guests seeking housing or relocation assistance.

Primary Responsibilities:· Process new guest registrations· Schedule case management appointments for guests· Coordinate morning case management appointment reminders· Enter daily data into Homeless Management Information System (HMIS)· Register guests for new member identification cards· Refer guests to appropriate day services

Required Qualifications:· High school diploma required· 2+ years experience in shelter services or similar human services setting· Proficiency in data entry or database management· Strong organizational and record-keeping skills· Excellence in crisis de-escalation· Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Bilingual English/Spanish·

Preferred Qualifications:· Associate's degree in human services or related field· Experience with homeless services· Knowledge of local community resources· Previous experience with intake procedures

Essential Skills:· Strong attention to detail and accuracy· Excellence in interpersonal communication· Ability to maintain professional boundaries· Good judgment and decision-making abilities· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite· Ability to work independently and as part of a team· Strong time management skills

Working Conditions:· Monday-Friday 8am-4pm

Physical Requirements:· Standing and walking for extended periods· Ability to lift up to 25 pounds· Computer work
