Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a BIP Group Counselor located in Pittsburgh, PA. This group counselor psorion will provide co-facilitation in a group setting for our Batterers Program with both male and female offenders. This position is responsoble to facilitate griups urilizing the curriculum/duluth or turning point model to clients fromntje community or our re-entry centers. This individual will complete assessments during intake process wirh new clients as well as complete regilar record keeping, to include attendance and participation levels for each client. This position alsp entails communication with the courts, probation and parole. The goal with domestic violence offenders will focus on decreasing risk of re-offending and changing thought patterns.

Qualifications

• Experience in counseling, group therapy, and behavioral health
• Strong communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of evidence-based approaches in community corrections
• Ability to work effectively with individuals transitioning out of the criminal justice system.
• Bachelor's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
• Previous experience in working with at-risk populations is a plus
• Previous experience in working in the criminal justice system is also a plus.
