Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and empathetic Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor (LPMHC) to join our team. This position is an excellent opportunity to gain clinical experience while working under the supervision of a licensed clinician. You will have the opportunity to work with diverse populations, providing individual counseling services tailored to clients’ unique needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide therapeutic services to individuals under clinical supervision.
• Develop treatment plans, and document progress notes in compliance with ethical and professional standards.
• Build and maintain a therapeutic alliance with clients, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
• Participate in regular supervision sessions to review cases, refine skills, and ensure adherence to best practices.
• Collaborate with colleagues and refer clients to appropriate resources when necessary.
• Stay informed about current trends and developments in the field of mental health.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Valid Limited Permit to practice mental health counseling in NY.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
• Passion for working with diverse populations and addressing their unique needs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience or interest in working with individuals with anxiety, grief, depression, relationship issues, and/or stressful life transitions.
• Experience working with psychodynamic, relational, or evidence-based therapy approaches.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, if needed.
