The Opportunity: Intake Coordinator working with the referral and admissions process for Residential Recovery Homes in Boston.

Job Type: Full-time, On-Site

Pay: $50,000 - $60,000

As a Intake Coordinator you would have a dynamic and critical role being responsible for the referral and admissions process of our integrated care services across our co-occurring enhanced residential recovery programs. As Intake coordinator you will communicate with referral partners, screen referrals, conduct interviews, coordinate admissions, communicate with VOAMASS programs, and assist the intake clinician to expand our external referral partners.

Some of your critical responsibilities:

  • Serve as first point of contact for external and internal communications for VOAMASS programs admissions (via, phone, email, and in-person) to ensure strong customer service and collaborative relationships.
  • Accept and screen referrals to programs, confirm eligibility, gather required documents, and coordinate with referral partners and stakeholders to ensure collaborative relationships.
  • Complete referral assessments, phone screens, intake-related paperwork, supplemental forms, and coordination between referral partners and VOAMASS programs.
  • Coordinate with the Intake Clinician and VOAMASS integrated service team members to ensure the referred client is eligible and is entering the program with all necessary support. Provide general administrative support to the intake team, including filing, copying, faxing, and scanning documents as needed.
  • Provide person centered customer service to referral sources and clients to ensure that the intake process is completed according to the agency, program, billing, and licensing standards. Maintain a professional, empathetic, and client-focused approach when interacting with clients, especially those in need of social or healthcare services.
  • Answer client questions regarding appointment scheduling, required documentation, and available services.
  • Ensure that intake appointments are scheduled according to the agency, program, billing, and licensing standards.
  • Input referral client information into EHR, manages program waitlist, and completes documentation in Electronic Health Records according to agency, program, billing, and licensing standards..
  • Meet with Intake Clinician for supervision.
  • Maintain records according to VOAMASS Policies and Procedures, completing all documentation and billing according to agency, program, billing, and licensing standards., and complies with professional standards as required by third party payors and VOAMASS

The Intake Coordinator role is about making a difference in the lives of the people we serve. You’ll bring the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in the human services field is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of one year experience working within the human service field completing referrals, assessments, evaluations, interviews, and care planning of individuals with mental health, substance use, dual diagnosis, and co-occurring disorders.
  • Experience in and willingness to learn Evidence-Based Practices (EBP’s); including but not limited to, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cultural Competence.
  • Experience in providing services within residential services is a benefit.
  • Must be proficient with electronic health systems and demonstrate excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and function efficiently in a fast-paced work environment. as the Intake coordinator manages a busy calendar.
