About Job
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy from an accredited program.
- Certification: Active credentials as a Board-Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC) through the Certification Board for Music Therapists (CBMT) or equivalent certification (ACMT, CMT, or RMT).
- Additional Requirements: Current CPR certification is required.
- Language Proficiency: Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Conduct Evaluations: Conduct evaluations to determine the need for specialized therapy services.
- Communicate Findings: Share evaluation results with parents and district personnel, providing clear and compassionate insights.
- Develop Interventions: Collaborate with the ARD committee to create targeted, evidence-based therapeutic interventions that enhance student performance, participation, and access to education.
- Provide Therapy: Plan and deliver music therapy services in alignment with students’ Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
- Monitor Progress: Collect data and maintain accurate, detailed records of student progress to ensure interventions are effective.
- Support Teams: Participate in ARD meetings, parent conferences, and other relevant discussions to advocate for and enhance special education programs.
