Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Mental Health/ Substance Use Disorder Counselor will review of main responsibilities. The Mental Health / Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work on a Per-Diem basis out of Helio Health’s Rochester Inpatient Program. 

 

Pay Rate: $19.23- $24.89 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
  • Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
  • Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.   
  • Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a human service field with minimum of CASAC-T required.
    • Or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field with demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status (CASAC-T or enrolled in a MSW or Mental Health Counseling Masters or equivalent licensure-oriented program).
  • One year counseling experience preferred.
  • Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling. 
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.

Salary and hourly compensation offers are based on candidate's education level and experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager and program.
