Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) - Job DescriptionJob Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) to provide mental health counseling services to individuals, couples, families, or groups. The LPC will assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and provide therapeutic interventions to support emotional and psychological well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose mental health conditions.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide therapy sessions for clients facing issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and relationship challenges.
  • Utilize evidence-based counseling techniques, including CBT, DBT, and person-centered therapy.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and case managers, to provide comprehensive care.
  • Offer crisis intervention and support during emergencies.
  • Educate clients and families on coping strategies and mental health resources.
  • Stay current with industry best practices and continuing education requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Licensed as an LPC in the state of practice.
  • Experience in individual, group, or family therapy (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of mental health disorders and treatment modalities.
  • Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

  • Specialized training in trauma-informed care, substance abuse counseling, or crisis intervention.
  • Bilingual skills (a plus).
  • Certification in relevant therapy techniques (e.g., EMDR, Play Therapy).

Work Environment & Schedule:

  • May work in private practice, schools, or community health settings.
  • Full-time or part-time hours, with potential evening or weekend sessions.
  • Some positions may require telehealth counseling services.

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

  • 4 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
